In relative motion, according to the special theory of relativity (STR), the Lorentz factor represents the rate of change of a physical quantity as measured in two different frames of reference. To explain this factor in length contraction and time dilation, STR uses a light clock. It is this explanation that will be reviewed in this paper and with a simple calculation it will be proved that a light clock does not support the Lorentz factor in this issue.
