The hyperspherical elliptic coordinates method is described, and its specific application to metastable states of antiprotonic helium is discussed. A note on the role of the hyperradius in the parameterization of the ubiquitous breathing mode is given, employing the atomic Bose‐Einstein condensate as a pedagogical example.
