Reply to Abiko's Comment on “Reinterpretation of the Fitzgerald‐Lorentz Contraction”

A rebuttal is given to Abiko's recent comment [Phys. Essays 12, 588 (1999)] on our paper [Phys. Essays 11, 521 (1998)] on the Fitzgerald‐Lorentz contraction. It is shown that the comment is based on a gross misunderstanding.
