An Inertial Clock Paradox and the Real Meaning of the Lorentz Transformations

The Lorentz transformations are applied to a simple time dilation problem. An examination of the results shows that the transformations are not consistent with the principle of relativity. The findings indicate that the transformations require a more accurate interpretation, truer to their historical origins.
